Pollen
Gregor Neuerer’s working is founded on the approach that the visual is understood as an elementary part of society and aims at revealing its functionality. From his photographic archive about architecture and urbanity (which among other things documents developments in Great Britain since the 1950s) a series of works on buildings, gardens and landscapes as well as the series with the title »Viewing« has arisen over the last couple of years. All of his series of works emerge from subtle interventions with the substance of the image for instance with analogue retouching. The exhibition »Pollen« brings together single works from Neuerer's different series to an installation-based ensemble and thus creates a place that is deducible from several sides. The experience of space and spatiality in the fluid transition of the actual room, the interior, the pictorial space, a stereoscopic image or a pictorial wall etc. plays a central role in this. »Pollen« is the first solo exhibition of the artist in Germany.
